While almost all road bike and time trial bike manufacturers also branch out into the other bike categories, there are a select few who spend the majority of their time and research in just road bike technology. Wilier Triestina is one such bike manufacturer, having made road bikes (and time trial bikes) since around the turn of the 19th century. Having produced bikes for that long and yet still continuing to have such a high product, shows just how great a bike Wilier Triestina can actually design.

There is another reason why I just love the Wilier Triestina bike name, and it has nothing to do with the bikes themselves. The Wilier name is an abbreviation that states Long Live a Liberated and Redeemed Italy. There are bike manufacturers who claim to be patriotic with their product, but I believe Wilier Triestina is the only company who can actually point to their name as being fully supportive of the home country.

So what's popular in the Wilier Triestina road bikes for sale? Well, if money is no object, the Wilier Cento Uno (Cento1) is a fantastic choice for the absolute best in Italian handmade craftsmanship. The carbon frame keeps things light, at just 1,050 grams and the SRAM Force components keep the bike super fast! The new model is a nice matte black with white coloring, but older models if they can be found have a great white with red/black scheme.

If we're looking for a discount road bike here (and that's what we do at this site), then the Wilier Triestina Izoard road bike is probably a far better choice. The Izoard typically sells for about half the cost of the Cento1, but still has almost the same carbon frame, but with a little more weight (1170 grams). Spec'd out components feature the fantastic Shimano Ultegra 6700, which is absolutely not a low end product.

Wilier Triestina bikes for sale are available in other models as well, with the current model year having several road bike specific models between the Cento1 and the Izoard, two time trial bikes, and then 3 weekend racing models.

It's difficult to tell people to go ahead and drop $2,000 to $5,000 on a bike sight unseen, but we've found the road bike owners, especially those who have so much invested in the bike, tend to take much better care of the bikes than those who purchase the dirt cheap models. When purchasing used bikes, there will of course be nicks and scrapes if the bike has been ridden at all, but those will in most cases be kept to a minimum and on the bottom of the down tube and around the bottom near the cranks.

After researching all of the used Wilier Triestina bikes available currently, we've found nothing to support that these bikes are anything but superb, even in used condition. So give them a try and pick your favorite at a price you can afford!
